Kumari Amman Temple, also known as Kanyakumari Temple, is Situated on the seashore of Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. This temple is dedicated to the goddess Devi Kanya Kumari. Devi stands as a charming young girl in her prayer, holding a holy book in her right hand. It is believed that the goddess Devi Kanya Kumari killed the demon Banasura. Kumari Amman Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. Festival celebrations at Kumari Amman Temple are Navratri, Pongal and Chaitra Purnima.
