About Lakha Mandal Shiv Temple

The remains of many Shivlingas and idols have been found here, which show the religious importance of this place. The temple was built between the 12th and 13th centuries, and according to an inscription, it was built by Princess Ishwara of the Singhpur royal family for the spiritual peace of her husband Chandragupta. It is believed that the Pandavas established the Shivling here during their exile. The remains of many Shivlingas and idols have been found here, which show the religious importance of this place. The temple was built between the 12th and 13th centuries, and according to an inscription, it was built by Princess Ishwara of the Singhpur royal family for the spiritual peace of her husband Chandragupta. The Kauravas built Lakshagruha (wax palace) in this area to burn the Pandavas, but the Pandavas survived. The temple is also mentioned in Skanda Purana and other mythological texts. Locals believe that Yudhishthira established the Shivling here.
