About Maha Kali Amman Temple
Maha Kali Amman Temple is located in Mutval, Colombo, Sri Lanka. This temple is dedicated to Hindu goddess Mahakali. It is believed that this temple has been in existence since the Dutch period. Under British rule, this place was named Paradise and in fact the presence of three sacred trees, Bo, Palimrah and Margosa, growing together in this area has made it a sacred site, which inspired people to build a temple here. Navratri is the major festival that celebrated at Maha Kali Amman Temple, Mutwal.
