About Mahabhairav Temple

The Mahabhairav Temple is located in the city of Tezpur, Assam, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The early temple was built with stones and than later renovated with concrete. The temple was built by King Banasura of the Ahom dynasty. The Shiva linga of this temple is said to be made of 'Living Stone' which grows over slowly by the years. Some people believe that Bana attained prosperity by worshipping Lord Shiva in this temple.
