About Maitidevi temple Kathmandu

The temple name was derived from "Maiti" which means parental home, "Devi" means Goddess. Maitidevi Temple is famous temple in the city of Kathmandu Nepal. Devotees believed that offering water to Maitidevi before worshipping Manakamana devi temple in Gorkha ensures fulfillment of the devotees wish. Maitidevi temple premises also have Mayur kund. On the festival of teej married women worships Goddess Maitidevi and gather at the temple to dance and sing.
