Matangeshwar Temple is in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Constructed in the early tenth century AD by Chandra Dev, the ruler of the Chandela dynasty. It is the only Hindu temple in Khajuraho still in use for prayers among the monuments built during the Chandela dynasty. Shivaratri is the important festival of this temple. The ideal months to visit Matangeshwar Temple are October and February.
