Neeli Chhatri Mandir - Divya Himachal Neeli Chhatri Mandir is an ancient Shiva temple located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Delhi, believed to be built by the Pandavas. This temple was established by Yudhishthira for the Ashwamedha Yagya and it is believed that Lord Krishna married his eighth wife Yamuna here. The temple was named "Neeli Chhatri" because earlier its roof was studded with sapphire stone, which emitted blue light at night. Neeli Chhatri Mandir is famous as a historical Shiva temple in Delhi. This temple is located in Yamuna Bazaar area, near Bahadur Shah Zafar Gate, near Salimgarh Fort and on the banks of Yamuna River. It is believed that this temple was built by Yudhishthira of Mahabharata and Ashwamedha Yagya was also performed from here. Neeli Chhatri Mandir was built by Naubat Khan, a mansabdar of Akbar's time, in 1565 AD. It was named 'Blue Chhatri' because its dome was decorated with blue ceramic tiles. The dome of the temple was decorated with blue tiles, which have been damaged over time. The interior of the temple is octagonal and there is a small platform on its roof, which shows the uniqueness of the temple.
