About Rashtrakuta Era Shri Kailasa Temple - Verul

Shri Kailasa Temple at Verul (Ellora) is a world-famous rock-cut monument built during the Rashtrakuta dynasty in the 8th century. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and carved from a single massive rock, making it an engineering marvel. The temple represents Mount Kailash, the divine home of Lord Shiva. Its huge pillars, sculptures of gods, and detailed carvings from Hindu epics show the greatness of ancient Indian art. Today, it is protected by ASI and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting visitors from all over the world.
