About Seema Malaka Temple - Colombo
Seema Malaka Temple is a beautiful Buddhist temple located on Beira Lake in Colombo. It is built on three floating platforms connected by bridges, which makes the place look peaceful and unique. The temple is mainly used for meditation and religious ceremonies rather than daily worship. Visitors can see Buddha statues, calm water views, and traditional Sri Lankan designs. The quiet atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to relax and take photos. Seema Malaka was redesigned by architect Geoffrey Bawa, giving it a modern yet traditional look. It is one of Colombo’s most serene and scenic spots for tourists.
