About Shree Shyam Baba Chulkana Dham

Shree shyam baba chulkana dham is a highly revered hindu temple and pilgrimage site located in the village of chulkana, Haryana, near samalkha in the Panipat district. this place is considered as one of the most holy places in the tradition of khatu shyam ji. according to a legend, barbarika now worshipped as a shyam baba was an indefatigable warrior with three divine arrows. to maintain  the balance of the war, lord krishna disguised as a brahmin, asked for his head as a donation. barbarika fulfilled the request at this very site. the temple premises houses an ancient peepal tree said to be over 5000 years old. devotees believe this is the tree whose leaves barbarika pierced with a single arrow to demonstrate his power to krishna claim the leaves still bear those puncture marks today. a holy pond is located on site where pilgrims bathe to purify themselves before those puncture marks today. Phalguna Mela which is grandest festival at chulkana dham, typically held in February or march. it celebrates the day barbarika donated his head to lord krishna on the Dwadashi (12TH day) of the bright fortnight of Phalguna.
