About Chamba Shri Chamunda Devi Mandir

The Shri Chamunda Devi Mandir is located in the city of Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali. The temple was built in the year 1762 by Raja Umed Singh. It is believed that when Goddess Ambika was sitting at the top of the hill, than two devils Chanda and Munda tried to distrub Goddess Ambika. Goddess Ambika got angered and than her knitted brows came the Goddess Kali in tiger skinned sari. Maa Kali killed both the demons and by which Goddess Ambika declared Maa Kali as Chamunda Devi.
