Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthan Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, also known as Sringeri Sharada Peetham, is one of the four major Peethas of India, established by Adi Guru Shankaracharya. Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham is a major Hindu monastery located in Kudli, Shivamogga district of Karnataka state of India. This monastery is one of the four monasteries established by Adi Shankaracharya and is considered to be the center of education of Vedanta and Sanatana Dharma especially in South India. This Peetha is located in Chikmangaluru district of Karnataka state. It is an important center of Advaita Vedanta philosophy and is dedicated to Goddess Sharada. Adi Shankaracharya founded this monastery in the 8th century. Originally this monastery was located in Sringeri, which is on the banks of the Tunga River.
