About Shri Kamakshi Temple

Shri Kamakshi Temple is located in Shiroda village near Ponda taluka of Goa. Kamakshi who is another form of Goddess Parvati and is considered as the holy Mother. The temple was built in late 16th century and the original Kamakshi Mandir was located in Raia village in the Salcete taluka. It was shifted to the village of Shiroda in Ponda Taluka between 1654 A.D & 1568 A.D. The temple of Shri Kamakshi is a strict orthodox Hindu temple and follows a set of dressing styles. Festivals like Dusshera and Navaratri are celebrated every year with great enthusiasm.
