Shri Kamakshi Temple is located in Shiroda village, near Ponda taluka in Goa. Kamakshi, who is another form of Goddess Parvati and is considered the holy mother. The temple was built in the late 16th century and the original Kamakshi Mandir was located in Raia village in the Salcete taluka. It was shifted to the village of Shiroda in Ponda Taluka between 1654 A.D & 1568 A.D. The temple of Shri Kamakshi is a strict orthodox Hindu temple and follows a set of dressing styles. Festivals like Dusshera and Navaratri are celebrated every year with great enthusiasm.
