About Shri Kankaleshwar Temple

The Shri Kankaleshwar Temple is located in the city of Beed, Maharastra, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple was built in the 10th to 11th centuryb by the Chalukya King Vikramaditya (VI). There are idols of women fighting in the temple as the women of the Chalukya period used to participate directly in the battles.
