Shri Koteshwar Mahadev Temple Ambaji

Shri Koteshwar Mahadev temple is located at a distance of around 6 km from Ambaji and has an attachment from Vedic times. As per the Holy Scriptures, the origin of the Vedic Virgin River Saraswati is here at the ancient Koteshwar Temple. There is holy Kund and Gaumukh from where the flow of Saraswati can be seen. As per the legend, Great Sage Valmiki, author of the original Ramayana, had an ashram in a dense forest near the Valmiki Mahadev temple. This was rebuilt by King Maharana Pratap.
