Shri Sai Baba Temple Shirdi

About Shri Sai Baba Temple Shirdi

Shirdi is the home of Sai Baba, located at a distance of 122 km from Nasik in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. It is believed that Sai Baba arrived at Shirdi in 1858 A.D. and spent 60 years of his life here until he attained his lifeline in 1918 A.D. Sai Baba is famously known as the child of God, as he always spread the message of universal brotherhood. Apart from this holy place, there are many small temples near, such as Chavadi, Samadhi Mandir and Dwarkamai. Shani Shignapur is located at a distance of 72 km from Shirdi.

About ten years before Sai Baba's Mahasamadhi, Gopalrao Booty had a dream where Baba inspired him to build a rest house and temple. Deeply moved, Booty woke up and saw Shama, who was sleeping nearby, with tears in his eyes. When asked, Shama revealed he had the same dream. Believing it to be Baba’s divine will, Booty immediately began planning the construction. For more details check our latest blog on Shree Shirdi Sai Temple Darshan timing and more.
