The Ugra Narasimha Temple, also known as the Lakshmi Narasimha statue, is a significant historical and religious monument located in Hampi, Karnataka, India. It is one of the most iconic structures in the ruins of the Vijayanagara Empire, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ugra Narasimha Temple, a prominent site in Hampi, showcases Lord Vishnu in his fierce, half-man, half-lion form, with a history dating back to 1528 during the reign of Krishnadevaraya. Originally a Lakshmi Narasimha statue, it was later damaged in 1565, leaving only the Ugra Narasimha image.
