About Sri Dalada Maligawa - Kandy

Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Tooth, is a famous Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is one of the most sacred places in Buddhism because it houses a relic of Lord Buddha’s tooth. The temple has beautiful traditional Kandyan architecture with carved wooden pillars, golden roofs, and colorful paintings. Devotees from Sri Lanka and around the world come to pray, meditate, and pay respect to the relic. Special ceremonies and rituals are held daily, and the temple is especially busy during the Esala Perahera festival. It is a center of devotion, culture, and history.
