Sri Ganesh Temple, Secunderabad is famous for its beautiful architecture and its history. It is believed that the idol of Ganesha was discovered by soldiers in the Madras Regiment while they were digging a well in 1824 and it was installed by Adi Shankaracharya of Kanchi Peetham based on Agama sashtra. The idol of Ganesha is unique as the Ganesha places his right hand on his right thigh and another holds Ankusham and a left hand holding the trunk and another holding Damarakam with Nagumpamu (Sacred Snake), is believed the only idol of the Ganesha in India posing in such a way. Ganesh Chaturthi and Sankat Haran Chaturthi are the festivals celebrated here. It also has Lord Shiva, RahuKetu, Sri Navagraha, Sri Subramanya Swamy, Sri Anjaneya, Maha Ganapathi and Sri Uma Maheshwari mandapam.
