About Sri Kesari Hanuman Mandir Hyderabad

Sri Kesari Hanuman Mandir is situated in Jiyaguda, in the Karwan area of Hyderabad. It is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and was built by Samartha Ramdas Swami. Sri Kesari Hanuman Temple is also known for its celebrations during the Hanuman Jayanti festival. It is decorated with bright lights and colourful flowers. The mandir was built over 300 years ago during the rise of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. And also the Guru of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. During the Maratha rulership, Shivaji was fighting with Aurangzeb and his guru was setting up Hanuman temples around the country. This site, near River Musi, is one of the places where he set up a statue of Lord Hanuman. Hanuman Jayanti and Rama Navami are important festivals celebrated here. The temple can be visited throughout the year.
