About Sri Veera Venkata Sathyanarayana Swamy Vari Devasthanam Annavaram
The sacred Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Temple is beautifully located atop the lush Ratnagiri Hill on the banks of the Pampa River in the Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Satyanarayana Swamy (a benevolent incarnation of Lord Vishnu) alongside his consort, Goddess Anantha Lakshmi, and Lord Shiva, uniquely representing the divine Hindu Trinity in a single cylindrical idol. According to historical legends, the temple's rich history began in 1891 when a local zamindar, Raja Ramanarayana, discovered the self-manifested idol hidden on the hill after the deity commanded him to do so in a dream. Today, this globally famous pilgrimage site draws millions of devotees who visit to perform the wish-fulfilling Satyanarayana Vratham ritual, celebrating its most famous festivals with immense grandeur, including the Divya Kalyana Mahotsavam (the Lord's celestial wedding) in May, Karthika Masam in November, and the vibrant Devi Navaratri in September.
