About Thikana Mandir Sri Govinddevji Jaipur

Thikana Mandir Sri Govind Dev Ji located in Jaipur is the center of worship of a major form of Lord Shri Krishna. This temple is located in the City Palace complex of Jaipur and is an important part of the religious and cultural heritage of Rajasthan. The original idol of Govind Devji was obtained from Goma Tila of Vrindavan about 450 years ago. In 1714, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh brought this idol to Jaipur and installed it. The temple was built in 1735 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh II. A mixture of Mughal and Rajput styles can be seen in the architecture of the temple. The main 3 festivals are celebrated in the temple, which are as follows, the first is Janmashtami, in which special programs are organized in the temple on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna. The second is Holi, in which the festival of Holi of Shri Krishna is celebrated with great pomp. And the last is Vasant Panchami, in which special worship and cultural programs are held on this day.
