Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple, in Trimbak, Maharashtra, is one of the twelve famous jyotirlingas devoted to Lord Shiva. This ancient temple, located 30 km from Nashik, has three lingas representing Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. The temple marks the start of the Godavari River and has the revered Kusavarta Kunda. Built by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao, the temple is located between the beautiful Brahmagiri, Nilagiri and Kalagiri hills. Maha Shivaratri and Kumbh Mela are important festivals celebrated at this temple and Shravan Maas is considered very beneficial, specific prayers and rituals are performed daily. October to February are the best times to visit this temple.
