Uma Maheswaram Temple

uma maheswaram temple is situated atop a hill in the nallamala forest range near mannanur village (amrabad mandal), nagarkurnool district, Telangana. it is roughly 100km from Hyderabad on the srisailam highway. lord mallikarjuna and goddess bhramaramba. the presiding deity is a unique, naturally formed Shivalinga inside a cave that is dual-coloured-white on one side and red on the other. the shrine dates back to the 2nd century ad and is linked to the reign of Maurya Chandragupta. it was later patronized by regional rulers and referenced in the ancient Vedic texts. maha shivaratri, karthika masam and tholi Ekadashi are the major festivals celebrated here.
