This temple is dedicated to Mata Vaishno Devi, who is also known as Mata Rani, Vaishno Devi and Trikuta. Every year millions of devotees visit this temple, especially during Navratri. Mata Vaishno Devi is considered to be the incarnation of the power of Lord Vishnu. It is said that Mata rested in the Trikuta Hills after killing the Bhootnath demon (Bhairavnath). The festival of Navratri is celebrated with great pomp in Vaishno Devi Temple, in which lakhs of devotees come for darshan.
