About Vishnupad temple
Vishnupad temple is one of the major pilgrim places for devotees in Pandharpur, Maharashtra, India. This temple is on the bank of the River Chandrabhaga. As Vishnupad Temple is located in the middle of the river, the footsteps get partially submerged in water, when the water level rises during the monsoon. Sometimes, the whole temple is under water for about three months during heavy rains. It is believed to feature a 40-cm-long footprint of Lord Vishnu in a basalt rock.
