Wagheshwar Temple is an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Wagholi, Pune city of Maharashtra. This temple is built of black basalt stone. And this temple is also very famous for its fine intricate Nakshikam, which has carvings of Hindu deities. It is also believed about this temple that it was built during the exile of the Pandavas. Lord Shiva is seated as the main deity in the Garbhgruh of the temple, and there is also a large statue of Nandi. Devotees come here from far and wide to visit with great devotion. Wagheshwar Temple is believed to be thousands of years old, and it is also believed that this temple was built in the 18th century by local professionals. The special thing about this temple is that it remains immersed in holy water for eight months of the year and the temple can be visited only during the rest of the time.
