The Chamarajeshwara Temple is located in the city of Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is more than 200 years old built in the 18th century during the reign of rishna Raja wodeyar in remembrance of Jaya Chamarajendra wodeyar The shivling inside the temple is worshipped in the form of Chamarajeshwara. There is a 70 feet gopuram which is built in the Hoysala architecture.

Chamarajanagar Temples

Chamarajanagar is located in the southern part of Karnataka. It includes various temples like Chamarajeshwara Temple, Kolada Ganapathi Temple, Puttammani Temple and many more pilgrimage sites to visit.  Also, it is known as Silk City as famous for the silk saree industry. In the early century, Chamarajanagar was known as Sri Arikottara. Chamaraja Wodeyar, the Wodeyar of Mysuru was born here and hence this place was renamed after him. There is also one famous festival Chamarajanagar Dasara is celebrated for four days. To visit all these temples the best time is from the month of October to March.
