Vijaywada Temples


Vijayawada is the second largest city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Lies on the banks of the Krishna River surrounded by the hills of the Eastern Ghats known as the Indrakeeladri Hills. Vijayawada is considered to be a holy place as it is home to one of the most visited and famous temples in Andhra Pradesh, the Kanaka Durga Temple of the Hindu Goddess Durga. It is believed that the Goddess Durga choose this place to relax and she had tasted the victory as this place came to know as Vijaywada. Vijay means Victory and Wada means place, as it is known as a place of victory. The best time to visit is October to March.
