About
Brahmanspati Sukta Abhishek is a sacred Vedic ritual dedicated to Brihaspati (Guru), the deity of wisdom, eloquence, and divine speech. Brihaspati is revered as the Guru of the Devas and the lord of sacred knowledge. This Abhishek is performed using the powerful hymns of the Brahmanaspati Sukta from the Rigveda (Mandala 2, Sukta 23), which invokes His blessings for knowledge, prosperity, communication skills, and spiritual upliftment.
Brahmanaspati Sukta Abhishek begins with Achman, Sankalp, and purification. A Kalash with mango leaves and coconut is placed, and Guru Brihaspati’s image or Shiva Lingam is worshipped. Abhishek is performed with Panchamrit, Ganga water, herbs, and turmeric while chanting Rig Veda's Brahmanaspati Sukta. The deity is then adorned and offered Naivedya. Aarti follows with mantra chanting. The grand ritual includes 441 recitations (21×21), requiring 21 priests, and may be followed by a Havan the next day.
