Rudrabhishek puja is a significant and sacred Vedic ritual performed to get the blessings of Lord Rudra who is a form of Lord Shiva. Rudra form represents the Lord shiva's aggressive, furious and destructive nature. The term "Rudra" symbolizes Lord Shiva in his fierce form and "Abhishek" refers to offering. Rudrabhishek puja involves offering sacred liquids and chanting mantras.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. After that, the pujari ji invokes Lord Shiva with the chanting of mantras. And the Shivling is anointed with milk and Panchamrit by the devotees, in which Gangajal, milk, curd, flowers, honey, sugar etc. are used. At the end, Aarti is performed and the devotees take blessings of Lord Shiva.
