Junagadh - Jal Abhishek Puja

Rudra Abhishek is a significant and sacred Vedic ritual performed to get the blessings of Lord Shiva. This puja includes the bathing of Lord Shiva along with chanting of mantras with items like Panchamrit, Milk and other sacred items. It is believed that doing this puja in Junagadh helps in making Lord Shiva happy.

The "Shodshopachar" word is a combination of two words "Shod" means sixteen and "Upchar" means Solution. In this ritual, Lord Shiva is worshipped with all sixteen rituals along with chanting of Pauranik Mantras during the puja. It is believed that worshipping Lord Shiva in Junagadh by offering all 16 things while chanting mantras is known as Shodshopachar puja.

Jal Abhishek is a Hindu ritual where the offering of water is done on lingam. The puja in Junagadh is mostly performed in the temples. During puja, various mantras are also chanted. Jal Abhishek is performed to invoke the blessings of Rudra in the form of Lord Shiva.

Laghu Rudra Abhishek in Junagadh is a ritual done for worshipping Lord Shiva where chanting of mantras is done. In this ritual, Panchamrut (milk, curd, honey, ghee and Ganga jal), is offered to the Shivling. This offering represents the devotees' devotion to Shivji.
