About

The Abhishek at Tara Tarini temple is a sacred ritual to worship and honour the Goddess Tara Tarini, An incarnation of Shakti. This puja is performed with great devotion and is believed to invoke the Goddess's blessing. This puja is of awakening the Goddess for the day.

The Abhishek begins with the Mangal arti, where the Goddess is awakened and prepared for the day. The ritual continues with Dant Dhavan, Symbolizing the cleansing of the divine. Then, Abhishek is done by the pujari with auspicious substances such as rose water, Ghee, curd, kheer and turmeric, representing purity and devotion. This is followed by the Kumkum Snaan, with rose water, Ghee, curd, kheer and turmeric, representing purity and devotion. This is followed by the Kumkum Snaan, where the deity is adorned with sacred vermilion. Then Vastra Daan is done to the Goddess, providing new clothes for the Goddess, and the Sringar, a ceremonial dressing and beautification is performed. The ritual progresses with the offering of Dhoop and Diya in the name of the Yajman by taking their Sankalp by the Pujari Ji, accompanied by the chanting of the Mool Mantra. The ritual concludes with offering water and doing Mukhvas, an offering of water to start the day, followed by pushpanjali (Flower offering) and parikrama. Then Prasad is offered to the Goddess. Then at last, bathing of the Goddess's lion is performed, after which Goddess's prasad is respectfully offered to the lion, and after that, the prasad is offered to the devotes.
