About

Mundan Sanskar Puja is a Hindu ritual in which a child's first hair is cut. It is usually performed in the first or third year of life. The ritual is believed to purify the child, remove negativity from previous births, and promote healthy hair growth. A priest performs the puja with mantras and prasad to seek blessings for the child's good health, long life, and wisdom. Family and relatives join in to bless the child and celebrate this rite.

At first, salnalp is taken by the name of the devotees. after that, pandit ji invokes the goddess Ganesh with chanting mantras and prayers. In the Mundan Sanskar Puja, the priest sets up an altar with flowers, incense, and sacred objects. Ganesha Puja is first performed for blessings. The child is seated, and mantras are chanted. The barber or a family member shaves the child's head, leaving a small piece if desired. Holy water is sprinkled, and a paste of sandalwood is applied to the head. The hair is offered at a holy place or river. Finally, the family members bless the child, and prasad is distributed.
