About
Pind daan and tarpan puja are sacred hindu rituals dedicated to honoring and offering gratitude to departed ancestors. pind daan involves offering sacred pindas made from rice, sesame seeds and kusha grass with Vedic prayers. these rituals are performed to seek peace, satisfaction and liberation for ancestral souls and to receive their blessings for harmony, prosperity and well-being in the family.
First Sankalp is taken in name of devotees by pandit ji. then priest will chant the Vedic mantras and invoke the ancestors. during pind daan, sacred pindas prepared from rice, barley flour, black sesame seeds, honey and ghee are offered with devotion, symbolizing nourishment for the departed souls. this is followed by tarpan, in which water mixed with balck sesame seeds and kusha grass is offered through joined palms while reciting the names and gotra of the ancestors. prayers are then offered for their peace, liberation and divine blessings upon the family.
