The temple was constructed in 1936 A.D. It is located on the premises of Kashi Vidyapeeth, built by Babu Shiv Prasad Gupta and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhiji. The temple is dedicated to Mother India, and in place of traditional idols, this temple has a huge map of geographical India carved in marble. The map shows United India before independence.
