Khandoba Temple is located in the city of Jejuri in Pune. It is the main temple of the Khandoba in Maharashtra. There are two shrines on a hill in Jejuri Khandoba temple; one is Kadapathar and the other is Gad-Kot temple. The Khandoba temple is built on a hill and offers good views all around. One has to climb a series of almost 200 steps to reach the sanctum. There are various stone images of elephants on either side of the main gateway of the temple. The entire flat upland above the hill is surrounded by a stone footpath in the centre, of which stands the Khandoba shrine. Also, a festival like Bhandara is celebrated by throwing yellow powder in the shrine, which is an important ritual. For more details, check our latest blog on Khandoba Temple Timing and more.
