Parthasarathy Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located in Chennai. The five avatars of Vishnu represented by the statues in the temple are Krishna as Parthasarathy, Yoga Narasimha, Rama, Gajendra Varadaraja and Ranganatha. The Pallavas constructed the temple in the sixth and eighth centuries. The Cholas then renovated it and the Vijayanagara kings built it again in the fifteenth century.
