About Sun Temple Gwalior

The Sun Temple of Gwalior was commissioned in 1984 by the famous Indian industrialist, G.D. Birla. Dedicated to Surya Dev. The temple is an exact copy of Orissa's well-known Sun Temple of Konark. One of the wonders of architecture, the temple features an incredible sculpture of Lord Surya on the temple premises. The Sankranti festival is an important festival celebration at this temple.
