There are 12 jyotirlinga temples in the world and Omkareshwar is one of them. It is located in Mandhata an Island nearby Khandwa city in the Narmada River Khandwa district state of Madhya Pradesh. Both the temple Omkareshwar and Mamaleshwar are the forms of the same Jyotirlinga. Mamaleshwar Jyotirlinga is on the south bank of the Narmada, and Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga is on the Omkar Parvat towards the north bank of the Narmada.
