Temples in Vadodara

Tapovan Temple is located at a distance of 7 Km from Vadodara Railway Station. It is situated inside the Petrochemical Township and is one of the beautiful temples built by the Indian Oil corporation but now it is under the maintenance of Reliance Industries. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has many holy places like Goddess Durga, Mansadevi, Lakshmi-Narayana, Tirupati Balaji, Navgraha, and Satyanarayan.

The Dakshinamurthy Temple is located in Vadodara. It is also known as the EME temple and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It was built by the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) of the Indian Army in 1966 A.D. This uniquely designed temple is covered with aluminium sheets and is the first army temple in the world.

Kuber Bhandari temple is situated at Karnali village in Vadodara. The temple is the famous holy place as it is near the bank of the river Narmada, this temple is very ancient and is said to be around 2500 years old. It is believed visiting Kuber Bhandari Temple on No Moon day which is Amavasya day attracts Pilgrims from all over India. Kuber was the brother of Ravan and Lord Shiva is worshipped in fame of Kuber Bhandari.

The Kirti Mandir is located in the city of Vadodara, Gujarat. The temple was built in 1936 A.D. by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad as it is believed that Sayajirao Maharaja built Kirti Mandir in the memory of deceased members of the royal Gaekwad family. The Golden era in the Maratha rule of Baroda started when Sayajirao Maharaja came into power in 1875 A.D. and brought a number of changes to the city. Festivals like Rangoli are celebrated during Diwali days and the entire place and its main hall become very colourful with various Rangoli made by the finest and most talented artists of Gujarat.
