This puja is performed to honor Goddess Lakshmi for bringing future wealth and prosperity to the family. Goddess Lakshmi is also known as the protector of Dharma.
At first, sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then Lord Ganesh is worshipped. Then mantras are chanted by the pujari and Panchang pujan is done. Then Abhishek of Goddess Lakshmi is with the help of things like Panchamrit, Ganga jal and Milk. After that Hawan/Homam is done for Goddess Lakshmi followed by the chanting of Lakshmi Mantra by the pujari ji. At last the blessings of the Goddess is taken by the devotees.
