About
3 Brahmin Bhojan at the sacred Biraja Devi Temple in Jajpur, Odisha, is a highly revered religious offering in which devotees respectfully serve a traditional satvik meal to learned Brahmins. The temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and is also renowned as the holy Nabhi Gaya, an important place for Pitru Karma, Shradh, and Tarpan rituals. Offering food to Brahmins here is believed to please Goddess Biraja and invoke blessings for one's ancestors and family.
The ritual starts with a Sankalp in the name of the devotee. After offering prayers, the invited Brahmins are welcomed with respect and seated. A freshly prepared satvik meal is served after the meal, Dakshina is offered to brahmins. The Brahmins bless the devotee and pray for prosperity, health, happiness, and the peace of ancestors.
