About

Tarpan Puja in Gaya is a sacred Hindu ritual performed to offer water, prayers and respect to ancestors (Pitru). It is traditionally performed to remember departed family members and seek their peace and blessings. Gaya is an important pilgrimage destination for ancestral rituals, where devotees perform Pitru Tarpan and other ancestral ceremonies at sacred places. The puja is performed with devotion and proper Sankalp under the guidance of an experienced Pandit Ji.

Tarpan Puja in Gaya begins with Sankalp, where the devotee takes a sacred vow in the name and Gotra of their ancestors. Under the guidance of Pandit Ji, the devotee performs purification and offers water mixed with black sesame seeds (Til), Kusha grass, and other sacred items. Vedic mantras are chanted while offering Tarpan to the ancestors, praying for their peace and satisfaction. The ritual is traditionally performed at the sacred banks of the Phalgu River in Gaya.
