That may affect Pitru dosh for which this puja is done. In the puja special prayers are done and asking for the blessing from the ancestors. At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then invoking Lord Vishnu is done by chanting of mantras and water by the pujari. Then offering things like water, rice balls, etc the devotees by chanting of mantras and the Vedic process is followed. At last, aarti is done and the puja is completed.
