Rameswaram - Narayanabali Puja

Narayan Bali Puja at Rameshwaram is a powerful Vedic ritual performed to pacify souls of ancestors or those who died due to unnatural causes (accidents, suicide, sudden illness, etc.). It helps in removing Pitru Dosha, Kula Dosha, and negative ancestral karma. Rameshwaram, located in Tamil Nadu, is one of the holiest places for this ritual because it is believed that Lord Rama himself performed rituals here for his ancestors before crossing the ocean to Lanka.Rameshwaram is one of the Char Dhams and is highly sacred for Pind Daan, Shraddha, and Narayan Bali rituals. Performing rituals here is believed to grant Moksha (liberation) to the souls.12 Brahmins will be given clothes, coconuts (i.e. raw bananas), rice, etc.

Hundred first preparatory activities which include bathing and wearing sacred clothes (men – dhoti, women – sari) Take a Sankalp: State your name, gotra, purpose (for the peace of which soul) Perform Ganesh Puja and Kalash Sthapana A special ball (ghost form) of flour or rice is made. Pran Pratishtha is done in that “ghost” symbol – it is considered to be the symbol of the soul Then with special mantras, the ball is offered in the form of Narayan so that the soul gets salvation Tarpan and Pinddaan are performed – with Gangajal, sesame, Kush, rice in the Yagya Kund, with special Narayan mantras, Havan Purnahuti is performed and salvation and peace of the soul is wished for. Food is served to Brahmins. Donation of clothes, Dakshina, fruits etc. is given . The puja will be performed by 5 Brahmins, in which the first Keshwa Narayan Havan will be performed.
