About
Tripindi Shradha Puja is a Hindu ritual that honors deceased ancestors and seeks their blessings and protection. The word "Tripindi" comes from the words "tri" (three) and "pind" (offerings). Tripindi is derived from three Pindas or three balls made of rice flour, representing the three generations of ancestors – father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
At first, devotees take a bath in the holy river before performing the puja. It is required to wear white clothes during this ritual. Then Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. During this ritual reciting the Gayatri Mantra is the most important part. Devotees offer three pinds to last three generations to soul to satisfy them. At las,t prayers are done for the salvation of the ancestors.
