Dudh Abhishek Puja is a sacred ritual in which milk is offered to the Shivling while chanting Lord Shiva's mantras. It is believed that offering milk to Lord Shiva cools His divine energy, removes negativity and brings peace, prosperity, good health and spiritual growth. This puja is especially auspicious on Mondays, Mahashivratri, Pradosh Vrat and the month of Shravan.
The puja starts with Ganpati Pujan and Sankalp. The Shivling is then ceremonially bathed with milk while chanting the Mantras. After the milk abhishek, the Shivling is bathed with clean water and with sacred items. The puja ends with Shiv Aarti, prayers for blessings.
