Dudh Abhishek is a ritual in which Shivlinga is bathed with milk using a thin stream of brass jars. Dudh (Milk) is continuously poured and chanting of mantas is done. Performing this puja in Lingaraj is auspicious.
Milk holds significant symbolic and religious importance in the worship of Lord Shiva. It is often seen as a symbol of purity and nourishment. Offering milk to Lord Shiva during rituals like Abhishek is a way of acknowledging and seeking his divine grace and blessings.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then chanting of mantras is done by the pujari. The offering of Milk is done by the devotees. A total of 10 litres of milk is offered to the Shivling along with chanting of mantras and following all the Vedic rituals by the pujari. At last, aarti is done and the puja is completed by taking the blessings of Lord Shiva by the devotees.
