About
Panchamrita Abhishek is a Hindu ritual puja where five liquids are poured over the deities and mantras are chanted. It is a combination of two words i.e.., Pancha which means five and Amrita which means nectar. The five main ingredients are used to make Panchamrita including milk, curd, honey, ghee and sugar. These all are mixed. Mantras are chanted throughout the process and once the puja is completed, the Panchamrut is distributed as prasad. Doing this in Lingaraj is auspicious.
At first, Sankalp is taken in the name of the devotees. Then things like water, milk, ghee etc by the devotees along with chanting mantras and following proper Vedic rituals by the devotees. Then chanting of mantras is done along with aarti by the pujari. At last, prayer is done by the devotees and the puja is completed by taking the blessings of the devotees.
